image001-300x257The Cross is at the forefront. Where it
should be!

“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Gal.6:14)

“The cross before me, the world behind me
The cross before me, the world behind me
The cross before me, the world behind me
No turning back, no turning back”

Notice the close proximity of the Cross to the weather vane (also in the shape of a cross) moving in response to the way the wind blows. We’re called to set our sails to catch the wind of the Spirit and be the weather vanes that are alert to where God is moving.

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.” (John 3:8)

Sunrise at the Airlie Monument, Tulloch Hill, Glen Prosen, near Kirriemuir

In the background is the Airlie Monument. Whatever we are called to build for God
must be in the background!

“Each one should be careful how he builds” (1 Cor. 3:10).
It should point heavenward!

“Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Col.3:2-3)

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Prov. 18:10)

Pointing straight up from the tower is the lightning conductor. Christians are to be lightning conductors used of God to stand in the gap connecting heaven to earth. Called to be channels of God’s power – clean vessels; prayerful, visible, strong yet vulnerable; nothing obstructing our heavenly calling in Christ Jesus.

The fire basket at the top left of the monument. Believers in Jesus are to be fire baskets capable of holding the fire of the Lord! Empty of ourselves but ready to be filled and set ablaze for Him! Why? So that many will see the glory of the Lord burning in the life of one soul surrendered to Him.

“Get on fire for God and people will come and see you burn.” (John Wesley)

In the background the sun is rising. In the same way, illuminating all that we are and do must be the Son of God!

“For the LORD GOD is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless” (Ps.84:11).

“The Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings” (Mal 4:2)

The Airlie Monument is on a hill at the head of Glen Prosen.

“Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication form God his Saviour. Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob.” (Ps. 24:3-6)

To the left of this shot there is a gate and also a TV aerial. Jesus said “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.” (John 10:9)

Let us be receptive and in tune with what the Spirit of God is seeking to communicate.
